Council Reflections Results 2015-16

Welcome to Reflections 2015-16!
The theme for this year is “Let your imagination fly”. Entries are due to the Everett PTSA Council office on December 4th, 2015, turn in will be at the Everett School District Community Resource Center from
9:30 a.m.—3:00 p.m. If you are not able to deliver between the listed times, please contact Marion at firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the 4th to make other arrangements.
20 entries will be accepted from each Everett PTA, with 6 additional entries for the Special Artist category. We ask that you make every effort to encourage students who qualify to participate in this division, it’s a great way to reach out to new families.
NEW CHANGES THIS YEAR! The size limits for Visual Arts and Photography have changed significantly, as well as when you register your PTA online. A handout with the changes is available here.
Changes were also made to the Reflections Handbook, Rules, and Program Resources - please check them out at www.wastatepta.org/programs/reflections and click on Forms.

Everett PTSA Council is excited to announce that both of our student artists who advanced to the National competition by receiving Outstanding Interpretation (first place honors) at the Washington State PTA level were also honored with Awards of Excellence (the second highest award possible) in their arts categories! These awards honor imagination, creativity and interpretation of the theme “The World Would Be A Better Place If..”. Both artists will receive a $200 cash award, medallion, certificate and recognition in the annual PTA Reflections online gallery.

2014-15 Council Reflections Summary
The Everett PTSA Council received 277 Reflections submissions from 21 local units, including 29 Special Artist entries! The Visual Arts and Photography pieces were on display at the CRC building until January 15th. Click here to see how all the student artists placed.
Reflections Celebration of the Arts-Council Winners announced
January 7th (special artists welcome to come at 5pm) 5:30pm-8pm
During the open house celebration, students and their families will have the opportunity to find out where their art placed in the competition and students will receive their award ribbons. Refreshments will be served, and all entries will be on display. Each student that had a piece move on to council should have received an invitation to the event, please let us know if your local unit does not have the information. The world would be a better place if... is the theme for the 2014-2015 school year. This theme by Mercedes Messer of Puyallup, Washington was selected through the Reflections Theme Search Contest. When asked what inspired her theme, Mercedes said, “Our world, because I care about it and wanted to know other kids’ ideas on how we could make it a better place.”
